Wanna know how to rock out like a superstar? Here's some handy tips and tricks to help you get your best performance.

Composer

Close Unnessary Windows

If you experience any performance issues (lagging, playback issues), try closing unecessary programs.

Save Often

You never know what's gonna happen and you wouldn't want your song to be lost. Remember, it's a lot easier to undo changes than rebuild it from scratch.

Tooltips are your friend

The bottom of the Composer has a Tooltip section. When you rollover a button or function in the Composer, an explanation will appear in the Tooltip section.

Look before you Leap (Preview Mode)

In the Chord View of the Composer, there is a Preview Mode button. When you turn on the Preview Mode, you can press the colored chord buttons to hear them play without having them entered into your track. The Preview Mode is useful when you want to test out certain chord sequences without actually entering them into the Composition Track.

Recording Studio

Silence is Golden

Use earphones to keep your mic from picking up the sounds from your speakers. If you do not have any earphones, make sure you keep your speaker away from the mic. In this case, turning down the volume of your speakers will also help.

Find the optimal distance from the mic

If you feel the recording is too soft or too loud, adjust the distance between you and your mic. You can also adjust the sensitivity of your mic with the mic icon on the bottom left of the Recording Studio interface.

Advanced Features

Changing Key

By clicking on the "Set Key / BPM" button in the Chord View of the Composer, you can change raise or lower the key / scale of the song.

Changing Tempo

By clicking on the "Set Key / BPM" button in the Chord View of the Composer, you can change the speed of your song.

2 Chords per Measure (2CPM)

In Composer, each jelly bean represents one measure. By default, when you enter one chord for each measure. When you use 2CPM mode, you can have 2 chords per measure. This allows you to add a little variety to your song.

Labeling

In the Label Area, you can label sections of your song. This is particularly useful when you are arranging your song. The labels will help you distinguish different sections of your song so you can apply different arrangements.
